There were lot of buzz about Samsung’s upcoming flip phone. It is finally here. Samsung Mobile on Wednesday announced its flip phone, the Samsung G-9298. The company also calls it “Leader”. The phone is unveiled in China, and is unlikely if the company will be launching the device in other markets.
The new phone — Leader is a device which is a major upgrade over the Samsung’s W2017 flip phone, especially on the camera and processor front. The flip phone comes with a fast wireless charging technology on board. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 processor, while on the camera front the device sports a 12-megapixel camera at the back, the front camera includes a sensor of 5-megapixel. The rear camera comes coupled with a wider f/1.7 aperture, on the other hand the selfie shooter includes an f/1.9 aperture.

There’s also a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner which sits at the back, right below the camera and above the brand logo. Like the latest flagship phones by Samsung, the Galaxy S8 and S8+, there’s no dedicated button for Bixby in the new flip phone.
Additional features include fast-wireless charging, Samsung Pay, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, and two 4.2-inch displays: both AMOLED 1080p, one on the outside and one on the inside. There’s a 2,300 mAh battery, a configurable hotkey, and an Always-on display.
The flip phone will be available only China for now. Samsung is yet to confirm the price and release date of the device yet. Chances are rare if the new flip phone by Samsung will ever hit the Indian shores.
